It is not heat friendly.
It still easily chip, crack, etch, scratch and stain if not maintained properly.

Quartz need to be sealed once a year.
Slicia is a naturally occurring mineral common in natural rocks.
Its true that natural stone also has Slicia, but its only 10% in marble and 40% in granite and its only dangerous if stone is cut dry with out proper protection.
Even if precautions are taken with quartz, there is still a major risk for workers to be diagnosed with Silicousis.
For kitchen countertops, it is best to use one inch and quarter (1.25) which comes in most granite.
In marble, there are three quarter of an inch (3/4") or one inch and quarter (1.25") thickness.
Some hot water and sponge should be perfectly fine to clean the countertops.
No need for any countertop surface cleaners as it may demolish the shine of your countertop.
