I also went to work at Home Depot in 2003, first in their kitchen and bath department, then appliances.
When I heard about the opportunity to be a kitchen designer, I jumped on it.
They sent us to school to learn how to design and then to use their computer software.
It was an invaluable experience.
The master CKD spent many months sitting with us to help us hone our skills.
I found I loved designing and assisting people with product selections and beautifying their homes.
While working at Home Depot I was recruited by Black Dog Builders to work for them and I learned to design additions, whole room remodeling and space management.
When I heard about the opportunity to be a kitchen designer, I jumped on it.

When I was contacted by these wonderful homeowners to help redesign and update their kitchen I was so happy to help.
This kitchen is a very typical contractor grade kitchen.
It's U-shape is very 1990's.
The microwave hanging below the cabinet line is a give away that it was added after the cabinetry was installed.
The back wall was not well utilized and necessitated the additional table to act as counter space.
The dishwasher was very close to the peninsula making it impossible to utilize from both sides.
