Since beginning his San Diego Kitchen and Bath Design and Remodeling business in 1977, Dan has completed over 1,000 residential kitchen and bath remodeling projects. Though he specializes in Kitchen and Bath Design & Remodeling and building custom cabinetry, his efforts to solve problems for his clients has lead him into room additions, decks, wine cellars, and all imaginable residential remodeling projects.
Dan originally did business under the name Baywood Kitchens, Inc, operating two showrooms in La Mesa and La Jolla, a shop, a warehouse, and a team of over 35 employees. In the late 1980's he decided to focus on what he perceived had became his core business, taking care of clients personally from start to finish on each project, rather than managing sales teams, design staff, installation crews, and project foremen from behind a desk.
This simpler business model allowed Dan to make the most of his talents and abilities while making his day-to-day work far more enjoyable. It also ensures that his clients got the highest possible level of service and easy & efficient lines of communication.

Yes and no - all remodeling contractors in California must contain a 3-day cancellation or rescission clause, which means you have 3 days after the the contract sign date to cancel without penalty.
After that three day rescission period or if work has been started, contract cancellation gets far more complicated (beyond the scope of this FAQ).
Many contractors (Dan included) have documents that are signed when materials are ordered that must be fabricated or custom ordered prior to starting work on the job called work authorization forms.

Focusing on aesthetics in lieu of function may give you a pretty picture but it will absolutely not function well, and no matter how good a room looks, if it doesn't function well you will be very uncomfortable living with it.
